Introducing our #TIALSBB of the week, Veronica Coco! As one of our models in our recent TIALS Limited Campaign, we got a chance to discuss with her about how cross-culturalism has influenced her , her style, and the best advice she can pass on to others.
We have seen on your instagram description that you are Thai/Nigerian, born in Sweden, and now living in LA. In what ways has this cross-culturalism influenced your life?
Growing up in a multicultural household has taught me how to be open and understanding of other cultures. It gave me the opportunities to travel and be around different people. Being used to adapting quickly to different cultures and languages made moving out to Los Angeles pretty easy although the cultural differences are major.
How would you describe your style?
I would say my personal style is kind of eclectic. I don’t have one particular style I go by. I love vintage clothes and sneakers. Overall, I would say my style would be defined as minimal with a splash of color. I love wearing unique accessories and also clothes that show of my curves. You’ll often see me with high waisted pants and a fitting top and sneakers.
What is the best advice that has been given to you that you can pass on to others?
Live your life in a way that makes YOU happy. Don’t worry about where other people are in their life at your age. Your journey is unique. So make sure you always make the best of it and just see downfalls as a lesson that’s apart of the storyline of your life!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I write poetry @wordsbywronica and I love to go to concerts, museums, flea markets and different events. I also love cooking and trying new restaurants. Once in a while I go on road trips or travel.
What is your daily beauty regimen?
I use baby oil to take away makeup. Then I use cetaphil daily cleanser and wash it of with first hot water then cold. After this I dry my face with a towel and use a cotton pad and apply Paula’s choice skin perfecting exfoliant. Lastly I put on organic roseship oil, olay face cream and cetaphil spf.
If you can be any Disney Princess, who would you choose and why?
Mulan for sure! Even though I look more African than Asian I could see myself in Mulan. I love how she pushes the gender roles and shows us that women can do anything men can do! And that gender roles are just norms and not reality that we should live by.
