Introducing our #TIALSBB of the week, Marie Giuffreda. Marie starred as one of our vintage beauties in our Women Try On Fair Trade Inclusive Millennial Pink Lingerie video. We got a chance to chat with Marie behind the scenes about her recent move to Los Angeles from Texas, her possibility of being on the cover of Maxim Magazine and more!
What has been the scariest and best part about moving from Texas to Los Angeles?
The best part is the work opportunity in LA and the fact that there is always something fun going on here- it's amazing. By the same token, the scariest part of coming to a new place is building your community and friendships from scratch.
What does Texas offer that Los Angeles doesn’t?
Open space and cheaper rent!
How long have you been modeling and how did you get into it?
I started in acting-- doing commercials. I booked my first national brand at 18. Then I went off to college and wanted to focus on that and I put acting on hold for awhile. I got back into the industry about 2 years ago and always loved modeling and being in front of the camera so it was a natural progression to pursue!
Any industry horror or comedic stories?
Plenty! Every audition or casting is so different then the next one, and I've gone on tons over the years. You learn to expect the unexpected and just roll with the punches.
When you’re not modeling, what do you do in your free time?
I love stand up comedy. So I might be at a comedy club or watching a Netflix special. I'm also a huge ocean lover- so any time I can get to the beach and get right in the waves-- I'm a happy girl.
What is something that you want people to know more about you?
I don't usually lead with my back story-- I was born in Japan, have traveled the world (45+ countries), lived in Germany for awhile and most recently worked 4 years at a Fortune 50 company as a contract negotiator. Most people don't know that when they meet Marie the model.
What is a dirty habit that you’re trying to kick or a healthy habit that you’re trying to incorporate into your life more?
I want to add some variety to my workout routine. I will run or go for a hike on Runyon but I want to try some new classes- maybe kickboxing!
What are your plans for in the future?
I am currently competing to be on the cover of Maxim Magazine-- voting has started and I would love the support from my TIALS family in this journey! Anyone that is 18+ with a Facebook can vote for me for free once a day at the link in my IG bio (@mariegiuffreda) or here: https://maximcovergirl.com/2018/marie-giuffreda
