If someone else had to describe you in 3 words, what would they be?
Funny, Hyper, Genuine
As an aspiring actress in Los Angeles, what steps do you take to achieve your goals?
Taking acting classes is definitely important. As an actor, I’m always growing and refining my art. It doesn’t matter if you think you’re the best actor in the whole world- you can always be better. I’ve also became best friends with rejection. Developing a thick skin is super important and it’s something that took me a long time to do. After all that foundation work, getting a manager who I mesh well with and going on lots of auditions and becoming acquainted with casting directors was essential.
What advice would you give to other girls trying to become an actress in Los Angeles like yourself?
The first step you need to take is acknowledging and accepting the fact that, chances are, your first role isn’t going to be some huge breakthrough part that’ll skyrocket you into stardom. While so much of the industry is about talent, a huge part of it is also luck. Be okay with rejection- there’s a ton of it. Be okay with small parts and low-budget production; it’s all part of the process. And do NOT compromise your values. A lot of people will try to take advantage of you because they know you’ll do almost anything to achieve your dreams. You gotta stay true to yourself.
How do you respond to internet trolls?
I literally just laugh it off because I don’t give a shit. I love posting mean comments on my insta story and making fun of them. I’m not gonna get upset over someone who took the time to go through my Instagram to make rude comments. I’m confident in myself and my flaws and obviously people follow me for a reason so why should I care about what an anonymous trash monster says?
What or who has shaped you into the person you are now?
I OWE EVERYTHING I AM TO MY MAMA. All the best parts of me come from her and I genuinely don’t know what I would do without her. I’ve been through a lot of tough stuff in my life and she’s the one who taught me how and gave me the strength to make it out.
Where do you hope to see yourself in the next 5 years?
Obviously, I would love to be a successful actor in 5 years, but I just want to be totally content with wherever I am. Acting is my dream but it’s so much more important to be to just be happy so if that’s where I am in 5 years, that’s enough for me.
