Introducing our #TIALSBB of the week, Tai-Jin Kiloh AKA Clear Heels! This bad ass babe embodies what it means to have girl power. We got a chance to interview her and get to know her a little more. Keep reading to learn about her advice to girls on self love!
TIALS: What is your daily morning routine?
Most days I wake up, do some stretches, get a juice, go to the gym, and plan my day in the shower. I find a lot of clarity in water.
TIALS: If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title would be and why?
Probably something HOE (the story of my life) like Iceberg Slim’s PIMP. I owe a lot of my success to my career in sex work, it’s allowed me to support myself, be financially independent, and dedicate time to my personal art.
TIALS: What makeup product can you not live without, if any?
Moisturizer? Is that makeup? It’s the one thing I don’t leave the house without. Otherwise, I’m super loyal to my tarte brow gel.
TIALS: Who has inspired you in your life and why?
I think the women in my family are my largest source of inspiration. I come from a very matriarchal family on my mother’s side, they’re the emotional support and backbone to everyone around them, I have so much respect and appreciation for their strength that I’ve inherited.
TIALS: What does girl power mean to you?
Girl power is inter sectional feminism, it’s workers rights, it’s socialized healthcare and paid maternity leave. It’s not only empowerment from yourself but it’s empowerment from your sisters, community, and whole movement.
TIALS: What is the best advice that you can give girls on self love?
The best advice I can give is to recognize yourself. You know what’s best for you, and there’s no use in denying yourself pleasure. Drink a bottle of wine, take a hot bath, buy a nice vibrator. Take time off work, go on vacation, fall in love with someone, something. You owe it to yourself.
